Geo Informatics experts of CGARD Centre Dr. Shri J Rajesh, Project Scientist; Mr. Mohd Shanawaz Kashif
Project Scientist, and Md. Waliul Hasnat, Computer Programmer, CIRDAP visited to BARD, Comilla for the purpose of introducing Geospatial Technologies to be used for different Rural Development Sectors activities. They visited the Library, ICT lab, Conference hall, Hostel, Cafeteria, Administrative Building, and some other Departments along with Mr. Sk Mashudur Rahman, Joint Director, BARD.
Thereafter a detailed discussion held with the officials of BARD in the afternoon. Dr. Abul Kalam Sarifullah, Director (Project) chaired the session. Dr. Kamrul Ahsan, Director (Training) started the session with welcome speech. In the meeting, Directors and all Faculty members were present. A video of BARD was presented with their progamme and activates. Experts gave a presentation about the GIS. The objective of our programme focused on the followings-

The purpose was to give a brief understanding of the Geo-Informatics application which has undergone remarkable pace over the last two decades and playing important roles in the world. There upon many developed countries already prepared the strategic planning using GIS techniques. Finally, the BARD faculty enquired about how the training programme of Geospatial technique used to sustainable village development.
BARD requested for one month long training about GIS.
Dr. Abul Kalam Sarifullah, Director (Project) concluded the session with a remarks that BARD will form a committee regarding collaborative programmme of GIS between CIRDAP and BARD and will inform CIRDAP accordingly.
